With LGA to France

France, the land of love and art, is a captivating destination. It impresses with its rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and unique cultural heritage. Known for its picturesque medieval towns, charming mountain villages, and idyllic Mediterranean beaches, France offers a variety of travel experiences that delight every visitor.

The characteristic shape of the country, often referred to as the "Hexagon," symbolizes the diversity and uniqueness of the French landscape. Apart from the mainland, France also includes overseas islands and territories on several continents, adding another dimension to its cultural and geographical diversity. The capital, Paris, known as the "City of Light," is a vibrant fashion and cultural center that enchants visitors with its elegant architecture and atmosphere. Here, you will find world-famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and renowned art museums like the Louvre. Additionally, France is famous for its wines and exquisite cuisine. From delicate cheeses to tempting pastries, French gastronomy offers an unparalleled culinary experience.

The rich history of France is also reflected in its impressive historical sites, including the Roman theater in Lyon, an impressive testament to ancient times, and the splendid Palace of Versailles, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture that once served as the center of royal power.

The education system in France is considered to be one of the best in the world. High expectations are placed on pupils. You attend a so-called "lycée" from Monday to Friday. Subjects such as French, maths, geography, biology, history, physics, sport, foreign languages and optional subjects are part of the normal timetable. The school year begins in September and ends in June. This program is aimed at students aged fifteen to eighteen. Prerequisites are good academic performance and at least 2 years of French lessons.

Host families in France are very welcoming and happy to take in guest students. You will immediately become part of the family and share everyday life with them. You will be treated like a family member with all the rights and obligations. It is therefore very important that you are open, honest and helpful and that you follow the house rules of your host family.
